Beacon Falls’ history is linked to the manufacturing companies that were its mainstay in the late 19th and early 20 centuries. In 1898 Samuel Lewis and his son, Tracy Lewis, started The Beacon Falls Rubber Shoe Company, which grew from manufacturing 150 pairs of shoes in 1899, to 5.5 million pairs in 1920. The company had a tremendous physical, economic, and cultural presence in Beacon Falls whose population during that same time nearly doubled. The company specialized in rubber soled boots with leather uppers and rubber soled athletic shoes with canvas uppers. After Tracy Lewis’s death in 1921, the company was acquired by the United States Rubber Company and the Beacon Falls athletic shoe was renamed “Keds.”

Following a simple and quick enrollment in the program, Levco delivers the tank or tanks directly to the customer’s home. When the customer is ready for an exchange tank, they simply fill out the form on levcooil.com/propane-exchange or scan the QR code on the tank to place a new order.
